If you've read my "The Heart Of The Brand" page, you know that my journey into soap making started out of necessity. Synthetic fragrances were my nemesis; they didn't just smell "off" to me - they were a physical trigger for my sensitivities. Finding a truly quality bar of soap without those hidden synthetics felt like an impossible task.
That frustration led me to the craft, and ultimately, to a deep love for the art of traditional soap making. Today, I use a variety of pure essential oils (EOs) to fragrance my soaps. For me, these botanical extracts are a world apart from synthetic scents - I can enjoy their complex aromas without the sensitivities I once experienced.
The Power - And Responsibility - of Essential Oils
While essential oils are natural, they are also incredibly potent. Just because something comes from a plant doesn't mean it is a "one-size-fits-all" solution. As a maker, I believe transparency is just as important as the quality of the ingredients.
Some essential oils carry specific contraindications that every user should be aware of. Just a few examples:
* Rosemary: Generally recommended to be avoided by those who are pregnant or nursing.
*. Eucalyptus: Often advised against for individuals with a history of seizures.
* Citrus Oils: While they smell divine, certain citrus EO's can increase skin sensitivity, especially when exposed to sunlight.

They aren't there to scare you-they are there to empower you. These labels are provided for your safety. Introducing The "Simply Naturals" Line
I realize that for some, even the most natural essential oils can be too much. Whether it's due to extreme skin sensitivity, allergies, or simply a preference for the scent of pure soap, I want to make sure everyone has a seat at my table.
I am excited to announce that I will soon be launching a fragrance-free line called "Simply Naturals". This line contains no essential oils, no synthetics-just a purposeful blend of high-quality oils and butters crafted into a pure, honest bar of soap.
Know Your Ingredients
Every bar I create uses a unique variation of recipes, featuring different luxury oils and butters (like shea butter, mango butter, or avocado oil for example). I encourage you to check the ingredient list on each specific bar. Since everyone's skin is unique, checking the oil profile ensures that every ingredient is well tolerated by your specific skin type.
